Everything You Always Wanted to Know About Insurance Trusts but Were Afraid to Ask

Bruce Givner, Esq.September 18 - Everything You Always Wanted to Know About Insurance Trusts but Were Afraid to Ask

Bruce Givner, Esq.
Givner & Kaye, A Professional Corporation

Bruce Givner will discuss:

Is it a problem if the insured pays the premiums
directly to the carrier? What if a Crummey notice is
not given to the beneficiaries? Is the trustee obligated
to determine if the policy is a “good deal” for the
beneficiaries? Should the trustee get an E&O
policy? Do you represent the grantor, the beneficiaries,
or the trustee? Should the trustee have the trustee’s
own lawyer review the document before agreeing to
serve? What if the client no longer likes the insurance
trust. How can the grantor change it (there are several
ways)? How to “disinherit” one of the children who is a
beneficiary of the ILIT. Should the ILIT be a partner in
an FLP? We’ll cover the basics, the advanced issues
and interesting uses of ILITs you would not have
considered.

Bring your questions and concerns.
